چکیده
ATRIA, M. & VAN WELZEN, P. C. 2021. The Calamus javensis (Arecaceae: Calamoideae) complex in historical biogeographic context. Reinwardtia 20(1): 1−7. — is a very polymorphic species with number of recognisable forms (of which several were once even recognized at level). A analysis showed no distribution pattern the diversification these various forms. are likely result adaptation to local circumstances, whereby more or less identical can develop under similar niche circumstances disjunct areas, exceptions ‘acuminatus-polyphyllus’ form and tenompokensis that present non-disjunct area.

Developmental features of the discontinuous stem vascular system in the rattan palm Calamus (Arecaceae-Calamoideae-Calamineae).
Calamus is a climbing palm marked by considerable internodal extension and limited stem-thickening growth, but with a surprisingly discontinuous axial vascular system. Stem bundles end blindly in a basipetal direction and are connected to each other only by narrow and late-developing transverse commissures. Vascular connection via leaf traces between stem and leaf is made over about nine plasto...
متن کاملHistorical and current introgression in a Mesoamerican hummingbird species complex: a biogeographic perspective
The influence of geologic and Pleistocene glacial cycles might result in morphological and genetic complex scenarios in the biota of the Mesoamerican region. We tested whether berylline, blue-tailed and steely-blue hummingbirds, Amazilia beryllina, Amazilia cyanura and Amazilia saucerottei, show evidence of historical or current introgression as their plumage colour variation might suggest. We ...

The Intermediator Role of Culture in the Durability of Historical Context Case Study: Historical Urban Fabric of Aran o Bidgol
The transition from the world of tradition to modernity has different meanings and interpretations but it seems that the common ground between all culturally and historically rich countries is that following modernity does not negate traditions. Studying architectural status in a country like Iran and the analysis of the link between past and present architecture shows that we have not payed en...
متن کاملCyclone tolerance in new world arecaceae: biogeographic variation and abiotic natural selection.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Consistent abiotic factors can affect directional selection; cyclones are abiotic phenomena with near-discrete geographic limits. The current study investigates selective pressure of cyclones on plants at the species level, testing for possible natural selection. METHODS New World Arecaceae (palms) are used as a model system, as plants with monopodial, unbranched arboresce...
